The Lacey Invasion: France and Italy

Day 107 - 113

After heading through Germany and Switzerland, the Lacey Invasion continued west towards France and Italy, spending most of our time in and around the French and Italian Alps.

The girls breaking the Gelato seal with their first ice cream in Lake Annecy, France.

The amazing town of Lake Annecy, France. It's always great when you have no expectations of a place and it delivers like this.

Luke's forehead looking very shiny and red.

Wandering the cute canals and narrow lanes of Lake Annecy. Fleur decided to leave the group at this stage to read some porn in private.......I mean 50 Shades of Grey.

This place could do with Revive Construction.

Just about to head up another pass in France towards Briancon.

Stopping off by the D1091 to Briancon.

The narrow lanes in the citadel of Briancon.

Making our way up to the castle in Briancon with some lovely French weather.

Fleur still reading porn on her own beside Lake Como.

Taking a boat cruise past the town of Tremezzo on Lake Como.

One of the cool wooden boats docked at Bellagio, Lake Como.

For such a populated area, the lake was really quite clear and amazing to swim in. The only problem was our campground was a good 30min walk up hill and you wanted to get back into the lake once you got home.

The town square of Trento on market day.

Market Day in Trento pretty much took up every spare laneway in town where people would sell a heap of crap that would fall apart as soon as you got home.

Old Bloke busting out some funky fiddle jiggle. He goes by the name Basta Retate and spray paints the wall where he busks. Old people these days!

The girls after a couple of purchases from the market, including tea towels and a punnet of strawberries.

Bunting setup in a laneway of Trento.

Probably the best dish we had over the 3 weeks - Fleurs Spanish Chicken Parcels!

Camping in Italy by Lago Di Santo Croce - a haven for windsurfers and kite boarders. It was quite weird how the wind would pick up at almost the same time every afternoon at 4pm.

We enjoyed Lago di Santo Croce so much that we decided to stay for two nights. Actually the driver got a bit inebriated on the first night and couldn't drive the next day, forcing us to stay.
