Dirndl Judgement Day

Day 100

With a relatively quiet night in the park and ride the night before, we awoke early and made our way into town to take a look at the shops.

With it being Saturday morning, the town was quiet and we quickly made our way to the local shopping centre to ask where we might be able to purchase our outfits for Oktoberfest. We were directed to two stores, with us settling on buying my lederhosen from one and Claire’s beautiful dirndl from another.

Too green.
Too pricey.
Too loose.
Too red.

Just right!
First attempt - spot on!

With that little task taking much less time than originally anticipated, we decided to make tracks to Munich a day earlier than expected so we could catch up with Claire’s sister Fleur and also scope out a potential wild camp spot during our time in Munich over Oktoberfest.

Arriving into Munich on a Saturday afternoon wasn’t the best idea, as the traffic was chaotic with shoppers and tourists and we were quickly led on a 2hr drive around Munich to try and find somewhere to park so we could make our way into town to see Fleur.

In the end, we went back to the place where we had decided to wild camp, took our bikes out of the back and pedaled the 5km into town.

We finally met up with Fleur at 5pm and made our way to the Lowenbrau beer hall to blow a couple of days budget on bratz and beer and catch up on the travels that Fleur had just been on around Europe.

So good to see Fleur!

We met Neil and Sue from Blackpool at one of the beer halls in Munich. It's amazing the people you meet when you get thrown on a table with complete strangers.
