Day 55 - July 18th
Much of day 55 was spent driving from our mountainside wild camping spot to the extreme sport capital of Norway – Voss.
As most of our time was spent in the car, I’ll add a few more photos of what we saw on the way and describe them below.
Norwegian countryside from Maxi. |
The Captain driving past one of the many, many fjords. |
Reflections on a Norwegian lake. |
Laerdals Tunnel - The longest tunnel in the world at 24.5km. Quite cool at first, but a little bit boring after about 10km and you just want to get out. |
Rest stop inside the 24.5km tunnel. You could actually get out and take photos, as well as overtake other cars if you wished. Why do they have such a problem with the Burnley Tunnel at home? |
Another big mountain and some rocks in Norway. They've got lots of these. |
Stop for lunch with some amazing scenery in the background. |
Lukes Mullet getting out of control! |
Crystal clear Norwegian water. |
Claire getting lunch prepared. Good girl. |
One of the hundred or so waterfalls we passed that day.....and with plenty more to come. |
Taking a walk up to the Stalheimer Fossen/Falls |
Good luck stack at Stalheimer. |
Chilling out on Lake Vangsvatnet, Voss after a longs day drive. |
About to tuck into a meal of Reindeer Strogonoff in Voss. Reindeer was actually quite a cheap meat at £7 for 400g and tasted amazing. There should be more eating of reindeer I say! |
