Warsaw to Krakow

Day 23 - 16th June

After our forced drinking session with the Russian just 6 hours earlier, Michael and I woke with some fairly sore heads. It also took a bit of convincing with Claire to make her understand that it was the Russian that forced us to finish the bottle of Bundy and not on our own volition.

In fact, I need to thank Caitlin here as she heard a good portion of the conversation between our Russian friend and Michael and I and vouched for our story.

She also added that she thought the Russian just wanted to sleep in our campervan rather than his car. This would probably also explain why he grabbed me by the arm, showed me the back seat of his car and tried to throw me in.

The drive down to Krakow was fairly uneventful motorway driving, although we did have a bet amongst each other to see who could guess the number of prostitutes we would see during the trip.

The bets went as follows –

1.     Claire – 8
2.     Mum – 11
3.     Luke - 17
4.     Michael – 23
5.     Caitlin – 27

With much of the journey on the motorway and the Euro cup being on, sightings (compared to our previous trips to Poland) were few and far between.

Claire ended up taking out the prize as we managed to spot a total of 6 on the way. I still think there were a few ladies disguised on bikes that weren’t counted.

We finally made our entrance into Krakow about 6pm and it was great knowing that we could setup camp knowing we were going to be there for the next 3 nights (see photo below at how happy I was).

Can you tell I was happy about being camped for the next 3 days?
8 Polish Sausages.

Honeymooners?

It was another BBQ for dinner in the balmy Polish air (special mention to those shazliks) followed by a game of Balderdash, which Mum really, really struggled with – i.e. picking her own answer! For those of you that have played Bladerdash, you’ll understand the stupidity of this.
